CryoPen® is a medical procedure which involves the application of nitrous oxide gas under high pressure to the skin where the unwanted lesions are frozen and destroyed.
It is important not to use retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs and PHAs) or exfoliants for at least 48 hours prior to the treatment. Do not use fake tan or gradual tanner for at least two weeks before, as well as avoid laser or IPL treatments for two weeks before.
During treatment, highly pressurised liquid nitrous oxide is used to destroy the unwanted tissue. It works by killing the cells with extremely cold temperatures. CryoPen® treatment is relatively pain-free, with most of our patients experiencing a mild stinging sensation for only seconds.
It is common to experience redness and swelling after treatment. Apply aloe vera as required over the treatment area for the next 72 hours.
